Rock n Roll Part 1
I've always liked this Garry Glitter song and always thought it was a boogie gone hiding..... I've done a few versions of it over the years and we struggled with it in Misipi. There was no point in trying to re-record it in the same style, Garry Baby nailed it first time. So when we were trying to de-construct it a bit, Derek suggested "breaking it down" in the middle, which we scoffed at at first, then tried it and found it worked big time, then a big fan of ours, Old Les, suggested that we should use brushes on the drums. So put that all together and we finally did what I consider a definitive Misipi cover song.
We don't do many covers because, we figured there's really no point, you're not going to get successful that way, so the only road out of "Cover Land" is to write originals, record them, put them out and if Mr Serendipity is on our side, the "gold lined road to success, opportunity, stardom happiness and all things wonderful and good" will be ours in a twinkling of an eye. (success still pending... will advise).
